A Day at Camp:
Meals: Lunch and a healthy snack will be served each day. If your child has special dietary needs, please bring medical verification to the YWCA front office so we can request snacks that meet those needs.
Activities: Children will participate in sports, arts and crafts, educational enrichment, group play, etc. Children will swim a couple of times a week, depending on age group.
Curriculum: The YWCA Summer Day Camp curriculum has both educational and recreational components to provide a balanced program for children.
Enrichment Centers: The following enrichment centers offer your child a variety of opportunities for play: manipulative, dramatic play, art, games, puzzles, blocks, etc.
Outdoor Play: Outdoor play time is an essential part of our Summer Day Camp. Please dress your child accordingly. We encourage children to wear tennis shoes.
Field Trips and Special Events: We take pride in working with community partners and organizations to provide our campers with educational and exciting experiences. Each week we invite organizations to our facilities or we visit their location. Texas Tech, Walter’s World of Pets, Science Spectrum, and Lubbock Symphony Orchestra are just a few of the organizations working with us this summer.
