Our well-rounded land fitness program offers something for women and men of all ages and fitness levels. The recreation center is home to a full size gymnasium, meeting rooms, exercise areas, dining facilities, classrooms, climbing wall, racquetball court, weight room, commercial kitchen, and WI-FI Technology-Equipped.

Fall 2017 (Begins August 28th) – Talkington Fitness Class Schedule

Abs & Arms– Define your core and strengthen your arms in this unique and challenging workout. This class is designed for sculpting arms, abs, and giving you a chiseled physique

Cardio & Weights– Want to get a full body workout in? Toning AND Cardio?? Then this is the class for you! This class concentrates on longer cardiovascular components interspaced with intervals for weight challenges. This class will involve upper and/or lower body work during the sculpting portion using dumbbells.

Family Fun Fit– Designed for the whole family! This high-energy class uses a variety of games and sports to engage the entire family in workout fun. Whether you are young or young at heart this is the class for you! The emphasis in this class is FUN!

Lite -n-Low– Low is specifically designed for individuals to get started on their fitness journey! This class will jump-start your body by using body weight and free weights at a steady low intensity. Full-body workouts designed to establish lean muscle. Not only will you get a great workout, but also these exercises will help you build strength and stability to enhance your daily life.

Pilates – Pilates is a total body conditioning exercise method combining flexibility and strength. It improves balance and posture by focusing on the core.

Spin– A high energy class with great music and motivating Instructors riding a varied mixture of flats, hills & sprints while burning calories all the way!

Tabata– Experience expertly designed, full-body workouts that target the major muscle groups of the upper & lower body, specifically designed to “make it rain” sweat! From circuit-style routines that jump-start cardio fitness, to creative muscle-toning exercises using dumbbells, exercise bands, and even body weight! Each class brings its own unique challenges. No two classes are the same!

Walk 15® This class takes the best features from low impact, aerobic style, group exercise, keeping it easy to follow but effective in results! We bring the fun indoors walking with easy-to-learn moves set to the beat of hit music, measuring our miles by the music. It is designed with “walking based” moves so that all fitness levels, all ages, all walks of life can do it! Music is the heart of a Walk 15® class. The music is engineered at the speed you need to keep you moving at a fat burning pace. Get big results by WALKING THIS WAY!

Yoga– This energizing class welcomes all fitness levels. Push your strength and flexibility to new heights using yoga poses that focus on breathing and stretching. You will leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

Yo-Lates– In this class, we combine pilates and yoga for a total body workout focused on toning the glutes, thighs and stomach. Develop your core strength and stabilization through pilates poses, and improve your flexibility, muscular strength, posture and alignment through yoga poses, breathing and relaxation.

Kids Club
Kids Club is available for members only at Talkington YWCA. Drop off is in room 107. Available for kids through the age of 12.

Racquetball Court
In our racquetball court, enthusiasts and newbies alike can get great exercise, build agility and muscle tone, and enjoy a game loved the world over. For reservations call 806-771-0184

Rock Wall
Talkington YWCA at Sun ‘n Fun features a state of the art, 32-foot, rock climbing wall. Members and guests of all ability levels may come climb our rock wall during open hours. Members are allowed to reserve the Rock Wall for their private event.

Weight Room
Ready for some heavy lifting? The Talkington YWCA at Sun ‘n Fun has a weight room with all the training equipment you need, including treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bike, machine weights and free weights. Whether you are looking to just tone up or buff up, you’ll enjoy your work outs in our clean and organized weight room.
