Women of Excellence 2010

The YWCA of Lubbock will induct nine women into its Women of Excellence academy on Mar. 2 at a reception, dinner, and program at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center beginning at 6:30 p.m.

In its 22nd year, the Women of Excellence program honors women of Lubbock who have achieved excellence in their careers or professions and whose contributions to business, industry, community organizations and our community are crucial to the success of the same. Including this year’s nine award recipients, the YWCA has honored 178 Women of Excellence since 1989.

Members of the community submit nominations for the prestigious awards, and an independent, anonymous panel of judges determines the recipients. The 2010 Women of Excellence award winners are

Business: Billie J. Caviel -- Founder and Pharmacist, Caviel's Pharmacy

The Women of Excellence program is an initiative of the YWCA of Lubbock. By promoting women as leaders in our community, the YWCA strives to empower women and their families in order to establish strong role models for our community’s future generations of young women.
