Packed with outdoor fun, enrichment activities, and the occasional special guest in the form of furry critters and exotic animals, Summer Day Camp hooks kids with its variety, excitement, and daily swimming. It hooks their parents because of its affordability, safety, and convenience.

With two locations and the option of enrollment by the week, parents can tailor childcare to their needs and schedules. Groups of limited size and by age at each location ensure that each child engages in grade-appropriate activities with ample space and under excellent supervision with a 1-to-10 to 1-to-12 camper-to-counselor ratio.

Camp Sun ‘n Fun
Held at the YWCA’s outdoor pool at 6204 Elgin Avenue and the adjacent Leftwich Park and Parsons Elementary, Camp Sun 'n Fun accepts children ages 6 (who have completed kindergarten) through 12. No preschoolers will be able to attend Camp Sun 'n Fun. The children will be split into age-appropriate groups.

Camp YWCA
Located at the YWCA’s indoor aquatics and fitness facility at 3101 35th Street, Camp YWCA accepts children ages 4 (who have completed one year of preschool) through 11. No 12-year-olds will be able to attend Camp YWCA. The children will be split into age-appropriate groups.

Extensive planning at both locations balances educational and recreational components. Children enjoy outdoor play, rotating through activities such as sports, arts and crafts, canoeing, fishing, hiking, and swimming. Additionally, enrichment centers include age-appropriate manipulatives, dramatic play, arts, games, puzzles, and blocks. Surveys indicate children most enjoy field trips such as skating, bowling, and the Ranching and Heritage Center; canoeing; and—of course—the daily fun in the pool.

All children should bring a backpack to camp each day stocked with sunscreen, water (not cola or juice), a swimsuit and towel, their morning snack, and tons of energy! They will return home each evening with stories galore about their fabulous experiences.
