Certification Classes offered at the YWCA:
- CPR/First Aid for the Professional Rescuer: This is a required course for health care providers. Class includes adult, child, and infant CPR and AED. First aid is also included. CPR is offered the first evening and can be taken as a stand-alone course.
- CPR/First Aid for the Lay Responder: Trains community citizens to act in emergencies and recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants. Teaches knowledge and skills to help sustain life and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until medical help arrives. Includes Adult, Child and infant CPR, First Aid, and optional AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Training.
- Lifeguard Training: To participate, individuals must be at least 15 years old by the last day of class, a good swimmer, and in relatively good condition. All participants MUST attend all scheduled class times to receive certification. A lifeguard certification class will be offered May 13th and 14th at Sun 'n Fun at 10:00 each day. Cost: $150.
